Using a Windows VPS for continuous seller operations
A practical checklist for browser uptime, extension health, session renewal, security, and remote management.
What the VPS changes
A Windows VPS keeps Chrome and the extension available when the seller's personal computer is off. It does not remove the need for a valid marketplace session, software updates, or monitoring. The VPS is simply another registered execution device.
Use a dedicated Windows user, strong credentials, operating-system updates, and restricted remote access.
Keep one controlled browser profile
One workspace maps to one seller account. Use one dedicated Chrome profile for that account and avoid opening competing automation instances. Pin or restore the required marketplace tab with a cooldown rather than spawning unlimited tabs.
The dashboard should distinguish a device that is online from a device whose marketplace session is actually healthy.
Plan for recovery
Register a second synchronized device when the plan allows it. Test failover deliberately, confirm the old executor is fenced out, and verify that queued actions expire or reconcile correctly.
Remote mobile access should control the central backend; the browser action still runs on the active Windows device.
